Coming from a background in video game cabinet design, Naotaka Yoshimatsu had no previous experience with bicycle production

In 2000, Mr. Yoshimatsu had plans to make a new and exciting type of vehicle. He initially intended to design and make a prototype in Japan. Then he attended the Tokyo Cycle Show with his prototype and something happened that changed his life... he met George Lin. George said to Mr. Yoshimatsu “let’s make your design together!” and the rest is history.

Mr. Yoshimatsu had previously visited other bike factories in his search to find the perfect partner to help make his dream come true, but was not satisfied with the choices. He felt Pacific was completely different with the others, being very flexible, quick and aggressive-thinking.

Mr. Yoshimatsu recalls “At the time I had some problems with my prototype but I did not have solutions for them. Pacific had plenty of solutions. Finally my search was over for someone who could make my dream vehicle a reality. I am so glad to be working with them.”

Mr. Yoshimatsu, who previously worked as a product designer for the arcade video game giant, Namco, now designs unique recumbent vehicles for his own rapidly-growing brand, Tartaruga.
