Pacific sponsors Taiwan No.1 female triathlete 2007/10/1

Pacific Cycles is proud to sponsor and support Jenny Li, Taiwan’s number 1 female triathlete, in her cycling efforts. Li has won countless championships since her start in triathlon competitions in 2002. In a recent cycling competition, Li, won the uphill mountain climbing competition on her Pacific Cycles Reach.

On June 24th, Li attended the Datun Mountain Climbing Competition, which attracted more than 800 pro and amateur cyclists. The competition consisted of an uphill 18km course with over a 1,000m in elevation gain. Li rode the Pacific Reach 20" small wheel foldable racing bike for her uphill victory in the female category. Li commented about her new toy size bike “provides me with a rigid road racing carbon like frame riding feel, thanks to the front and rear suspensions; Reach’s geometry is exactly like a standard road racing bike, and the smaller wheels starts up faster and works efficiently when going uphill with the combination of the optimized gearing ratios.”

Pacific is supporting Li’s cycling efforts this year with custom measured and designed road and triathlon bikes along with one flagship foldable Reach 20" racing bike. Li has two consecutive wins within 5 weeks starting in late May aboard her new Pacific bikes. In an international class competition on July 1st at the Uni-President Cup Triathlon in Taichung, Li finished 1st. Li finished the swim 1 minute 30 seconds behind the lead. On the bike portion of the event Li closed the gap, riding like a breeze, to start the run even with the leader. Li then went on to push her efforts and distance the group for a 1 minute and 30 second lead for her win.

Li improved her personal triathlon best by almost 3 minutes at the Korean Asian Tournament held early June, with help from her new swimming training and new triathlon racing bike. "I am happy with the result. Though it is too late and impossible to be qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics," Li said "I will try my best to focus my aim on the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou and 2012 London Olympics.

Congratulations to Li and her hard efforts.
