Pacific Cycles announces the launch of E-BIRDY, a next-generation electric folding bicycle that combines the brand’s iconic suspension folding system with advanced electric-assist technology, setting a new benchmark for urban mobility.
Built on more than three decades of BIRDY engineering heritage, E-BIRDY reflects Pacific Cycles' long-standing philosophy: electric assistance should enhance, not compromise, the riding experience. By integrating a lightweight, high-efficiency drive system into the proven BIRDY platform, E-BIRDY delivers smooth, natural support while preserving precise handling and ride comfort.
Equipped with a lightweight Mahle SmartBike system, E-BIRDY delivers intuitive and precisely calibrated assistance when starting, climbing, and riding longer distances. The system offers three selectable power modes and a range of up to 55 km with a single battery, making daily commuting and urban exploration effortless while preserving the dynamic ride feel of a high-performance bicycle. Once removed, the 1.1 kg battery can be used as a portable power bank, enabling a mobile office setup or providing convenient on-the-go power whenever needed. Carrying an additional battery extends your range without adding noticeable weight or compromising ride comfort.

The E-BIRDY features a newly redesigned hydroformed main frame to accommodate the battery system, marking the launch of BIRDY's new H-Series (H representing Hydroform, High Efficiency, and Hybrid). It features a cleanly integrated swingarm and fork construction, flat-mounted brakes for a streamlined appearance, modular thru-axle specifications for both front and rear hubs, and improved folding clearance through an enhanced fork design and optimized front axle spacing.
What remains unchanged is BIRDY's signature front and rear suspension system and its vertical folding mechanism. This unique structure delivers outstanding vibration absorption and frame stiffness, ensuring stability and comfort even on uneven urban surfaces. At the same time, the compact folding design allows riders to transition seamlessly between cycling, public transportation, office environments, and home storage.
